 Academic Awards

Guidelines:

  • Registered players of the CCJHA who are in the Squirt Division or above may participate in this program. Developing Mites and Mites are not eligible.

  • This is a voluntary program brought to you by the CCJHA Auxiliary.  Players are not required to participate but are encouraged to do so.

  • If you are interested in participating and are eligible, you need to submit a photocopy of the original report card received at the end of the first semester.  If you already returned your report card to school, please request a copy of the card from your teacher.  When you explain what it is for, we're confident your teacher will be happy to assist you.

  • Please ensure that the student's name and team are clearly written on the copy of the report card.

  • The report card can be turned into the team parent or directly into the concession stand at either the HCA or Dee.  (An envelope is available at each concession stand for this purpose.) The deadline for report cards this season is February 28, 2009. There will be no exceptions to this date.
  • Core subjects used to calculate all awards include Math, English, Science and Social Studies.

  • Hat tricks are awarded for three As in one marking period; Playmakers are awarded for improvement in three subjects from one period to the next; and a celebration is held for all players achieving a B-average or better.  In addition, prizes are awarded to players based on the average GPA in the core subjects for the first semester.

  • Academic awards will be announced and prizes awarded during the annual Hockey Awards Night.

  • This is a great opportunity! We hope you choose to participate!
