The CCJHA will be following guidelines outlined in the MAHA Return to Play Standards at https://www.maha.org/covid19.
In addition, we ask that players show up to the rink as dressed as practical (everything but skates, helmet). We will provide coaches with rosters for each practice and game for them to indicate which players are in attendance. In addition, there will be a sign-in sheet at each rink that parents or others must fill out. This is required for potential contract tracing purposes. Those unwilling to fill out the form won't be allowed in the rink.
In the event that a player or coach in the CCJHA tests positive, contact Sara Tormala at email@example.com ASAP, and she will in turn notify the required parties outlined in the MAHA guidelines.
On November 5th, the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) released updated guidelines for the 2020-21 season in response to COVID-19 concerns.
The latest MAHA COVID-19 information is available at https://www.maha.org/covid19.
As of August 16, 2020, the CCJHA is still planning on having a 2020-21 hockey season, including travel hockey. The CCJHA will be following guidelines set by the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association and by USA Hockey. The MAHA COVID page is at https://www.maha.org/covid19, and their return to play guidelines can be found at https://cdn4.sportngin.com/attachments/document/844b-2168647/MAHA_Return_to_the_Game_2020-21_-_V3.pdf. The USA Hockey COVID guidelines can be found at https://www.usahockey.com/playersafety. We encourage parents to read through these guidelines.
There are a number of details that still need to be figured out at both the Houghton County Arena and Dee Stadium, but both rinks will be putting ice in at the end of September and beginning of October, respectively. As those details become available, we will update everyone.
